BMW EWS / CAS PROGRAMMING
BMW Drive Away Protection or EWS was implemented in vehicles from 1995 and in some cases, up to 2009. The CAS system was introduced around 2005 and is in most vehicles up to about 2015. Keys can not be programmed to these vehicles unless you get the keys from the dealer, or have a locksmith code a key to your existing EWS or CAS system. You can send in your EWS box along with an existing mechanical key, and we will send it back to you with keys ready to start the car! For EWS Mechanical All Keys Lost situation, you would need to send us a door/trunk lock. If you send in a CAS box, there is no need to send any mechanical keys. In some cases with CAS modules, you will also need to send the DME from the vehicle. Please do NOT send us your EWS/CAS module or any other parts without calling us to place an order first. MERCEDES EIS & IMMOBILIZER
Mercedes has three types of immobilizer systems currently available in the US dating back to around 1996-2002 with the DAS2 system (originally introduced in Germany as DAS). These vehicles are equipped with an Immobilizer box usually under the dash or behind the instrument cluster and use Transponder Keys. DAS3/FBS3 became the primary system from 1998-2015, using both Transponder Keys and the familiar InfraRed FOB key and EIS Ignition Switch Immobilizer. We can make keys for all these systems, but we do NOT make keys for the new FBS4 2015+ systems. Keys can not be programmed to these vehicles unless you get the keys from the dealer. For all other Mercedes systems, send us your Immo Box (with door lock) or EIS Module and we will send you keys ready to start the car. If you need us to generate a mechanical key insert for FBS3 vehicles, you will need to send us an existing mechanical cut key insert or door/trunk lock. TOYOTA ECU PROGRAMMING
Some older Toyota and Lexus vehicles can not be programmed through the OBD port. The ECU must be removed to obtain the data read off of the chip containing the key information or flash the ECU if necessary. Remove the ECU from the vehicle, mail it into our Torrance location along with an existing mechanical key and we will mail it back to you with keys ready to start the vehicle. In some cases, you will need to perform a procedure to properly finish programming the new keys to the vehicle. Instructions will always be mailed back with your original ECU and new keys.
